About this site
Jute Splinters is an independent publication launched in August 2024 by Blue. It operates mainly as a diary of Blue's own journey with the hope that sharing it will give something back to the community.
About Blue
Blue was drawn to rope initially as an artist entranced by the beauty of frozen moments captured in stills. At the time they weren’t even willing to call themselves a photographer, but still they found themselves exploring shibari through the lens of a camera. Proximity to the rope scene quickly led to a short-lived but deeply informative period of self tying that has been followed by their journey as a top. Since 2018 the community has made space for Blue to grow, not just as a rope top, but also as a photographer, a kinkster, and a person. Lessons they have learned in rope send ripples into the rest of their life. They have gone through many phases and changes in how they approach rope and self-realizations about what they get out of it, many of which lead to their rope getting more and more sadistic as time has gone on.
Blue has the privilege of their main tying partner being disabled but with an incredible understanding of their own body which has allowed Blue to develop a strong background and passion for tying to the body. They firmly believe rope is for every body and love getting to help someone do things they didn’t believe themselves capable of. They are a perpetual student, in life but also in rope, wanting to constantly be changing, growing, evolving and hoping to encourage those around them to do the same. They believe in open source knowledge and will always share anything they know and are hungry for the knowledge others bring to the table.
